A Love Letter to Myself

Dear Me,

I want to start out by expressing how proud I am of you. You have fought so many silent battles and yet, here you are, showing up for yourself. You have grown so much. You have learned to nourish and pour into yourself. This journey is ongoing and even though you may still have ways to go, I wanted to take a pause…a moment…to admire you, to celebrate you. Your presence is refreshing. Just like a seed in Spring, you are blooming into a flower that needs to be treated with love, kindness and be in the right environment to continue to flourish. If I haven’t told you enough, you have overcome some really challenging, heart-breaking and tough situations. You’ve learned to give yourself compassion, grace and most of all forgiveness. Because despite being placed in unfavorable circumstances, it’s how you handled them that was a reflection of your inner strength and your warrior spirit. I love you and thank you for being exactly who you are.

Compassionately,

Elsa Guerrero

Woman, You are Enough

You are enough when others choose to treat you poorly

You are enough despite how others perceive you

You are enough with your imperfections

You are enough regardless of the negative thoughts you believe about yourself

You are enough because you are deserving of love, great treatment from others and unconditional support

On Finding Me

I have searched for so long to get to know me

Only to realize it was not me who I see

I saw the reflections of a scared girl

Scarred by the words of this world

The more I tried to find my voice

The less I felt I had a choice

I refused to continue to neglect and abandon myself

So I made a decision to go within and delve

It’s no easy journey to find me

But I’m ready to open the door that will lead to my liberty
